Transportation is provided to individuals who are in need of a ride to their medical, dental, or eye appointment and lack other options, i.e., family members, friend, neighbor, or church member.
Rides for Health provides transportation anywhere within the State of Minnesota.
Program coordination is provided by Aitkin County CARE, INC. Office hours are Monday through Friday 8:00am to 4:00 pm to make arrangements for a ride. Please leave a message after office hours and we will return your call. All transportation is contingent on availability of a volunteer driver. We recommend calling at least four days prior to you needing transportation.
Clients are limited to one ride per week.
A cost share donation is requested based on the mileage of the appointment.
